Position: Full time/ Part timeLocation: GriffithApplications close: Friday 21st February, 2025 Clinician – headspace Griffith headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation with Centacare South West NSW being one of the lead agencies. Our headspace team are experienced health professionals all passionate about improving the mental health and well-being of young people, their families, and friends in our community – and they are looking for new team members. About the Role: The Clinician is responsible for delivering focused psychological strategies to clients who engage in our service. This involves conducting initial assessments, developing case formulations and treatment plans, engaging clients in therapeutic interventions, and liaising with other people involved in clients’ care such as family members, carers, other community organisations, and medical professionals. Criteria: Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or Occupational Therapy. Willingness to engage in professional development opportunities and consideration of undertaking mental health accreditation if a qualified social worker. An interest in or previous experience working with young people. Ability to effectively engage young people and their families, including the ability to be creative and flexible. Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act and the Children (2007), Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act (1998), and other relevant legislation. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving and negotiation skills, and a demonstrated ability to consult, liaise, and negotiate with team members, other professionals, and external agencies. The ability to use relevant information technology, electronic recording systems, and data management tools.
