About the role We are looking for a Coastal Data Scientist to join our team. As a Coastal Data Scientist, you will support and/or lead our diverse and exciting array of projects, working to deliver better outcomes for our clients and for the communities we serve. Our projects range from coastal resilience programs in the Pacific to the design and construction supervision of innovative artificial surfing reefs. You will be working together with a well-respected team of experts with mentorship for your individual growth and development. Leveraging your expertise in data science, you will enable data-driven decision-making throughout the entire project lifecycle. The role is based in our Gold Coast (Kirra) office with flexible working arrangements. Applicants who express interest in positions at our Newcastle or Perth offices will also be considered. About you You are: passionate about our coasts and oceans and working in this environment enthusiastic about technical problem-solving with a focus on developing sustainable solutions that contribute to the resilience of communities a collaborative and proactive team member who contributes to the group’s goals someone who finds satisfaction in creating positive change. You will bring: one to five years relevant professional experience, preferably within a consulting environment proven experience in data science, scientific programming using Python and/or Matlab, usage of computer models and GIS, preferably applied within coastal environments strong understanding of coastal processes, sediment transport, and shoreline dynamics excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex engineering concepts to diverse stakeholders.
