Job Description Summary The Commercial Controller is the business partner for the Commercial and ITC (Invoice to Cash) functions including Sales, Treasury and Commercial Finance to ensure they meet group’s controls and defined procedures. This role, in conjunction with the Senior Analyst Accounting – MSG&A, is the business partner for the shared services functions such as HR, Legal, Finance, Marketing and Admin. The role plays a key part during the month end activities through coordinating and ensuring all relevant closing and respective ad-hoc journals happen within defined deadlines. The controller is the “go to person” for accounting technical questions that the business partners may have from time to time and works as a problem solver that is capable of planning future activities effectively and identifying compliance risks in advance. Key responsibilities Manage operational transaction processing for General Ledger (GL) across the Commercial and marketing, selling, general and administration (MSG&A) defined accounts; ensure integrity of GL transactions processing. Revenue recognition activities Analytical support: AR Aging & Cash Allocation, Bad Debt Provision & Forecast. Coordinate commercial related issues: Sales reversals, Sales returns, Bad Debt, AR monitoring. Work with ITC to suggest improvements on process that will affect AR and Trade spend controls and reporting. Work with Sales Finance team to provide analytical support and insights of actuals. Provide development and guidance to the Senior Analyst. Work with the shared services teams to provide technical advice, guidance and any process improvement recommendations. Adhere to all company financial policies and procedures, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). Completion of month-end processes and production of key internal financial statements including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow. Completion of month end and quarterly commentary requests for Commercial and MSG&A related accounts. Liaise with internal and external key stakeholders to resolve queries/issues as necessary. Periodically assist with independent testing for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) certification. Assist on the external audit process. Review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations (Commercial/MSG&A defined accounts) in accordance with KHC Financial Policy. Identification of potential problems & risks for Management’s attention. Revenue recognition and bad debt is done timely and in line with group’s policies and US GAAP requirements. About you Qualified accountant (e.g., CPA, CA or equivalent) Undergraduate business degree Minimum 7 years working experience in the accounting areas. Has strong attention to detail and demonstrates ability to think logically Ability to effectively communicate with the appropriate levels of management in both oral and written form. Communication style is clear, precise and logical Ability to perform under pressure to ensure that tight deadlines are met; ability to work with other individuals within the organization to obtain information to ensure deadlines are achieved Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook Major ERP system exposure such as BPCS/SAP Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and principles About us Hybrid Working – Flexibility around when and where you work.
