Division Name: Transperth Train Operations Position No: Pool Ref 35700 Closing Date: 2025-02-05 5:00 PM Location: East Perth Job Type: Fixed Term - Full Time About the role The Commercial Coordinator plays a key role in managing complex contracts, budgets, and commercial processes for the METRONET Railcar Procurement Project. This position supports a wide range of commercial and project control activities, including procurement, finance, compliance, and drafting essential project documentation such as internal memoranda, funding justifications, and management plans. The role also involves administering project budgets, preparing cost estimates, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining project records in line with PTA standards and legislative requirements. In addition to contract development and management, the Commercial Coordinator oversees tendering, evaluates contract variations, monitors contractor performance, and ensures compliance with contractual obligations, including insurances and other commercial submissions. The position liaises with internal and external stakeholders to enhance project outcomes and provides advice on contractual matters to the Contracts Manager and Project Director. Other responsibilities include preparing audit documentation, managing interfaces with other government agencies, and contributing to the overall success of the project through effective communication, organization, and leadership. About You! To excel in this role, you should possess: Highly developed skills in preparing diverse documents, conveying complex project matters, and obtaining stakeholder approvals. Proven experience in tendering, contract development, administration, and managing infrastructure or transport contracts, with strong knowledge of public sector procurement policies, contract interpretation, and commercial activities such as budget analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring. Demonstrated experience in managing transport-related projects, including risk assessments, scheduling, and ensuring alignment with procurement and legislative requirements. Strong interpersonal skills to build networks, maintain relationships, and effectively negotiate with stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and contract documentation, combined with the ability to conceptualize and solve complex issues.
