Job Description - Commissioning Engineer - Electrical (262525) UGL is an employer with a difference, jump on board and experience our incredible journey About the role The role of the Commissioning Engineer - Electrical will be responsible to produce electrical deliverables under direction from Commissioning Lead on the Major Project team in Melbourne. The role includes the following duties: Assist Commissioning Discipline Lead with review of Vendor commissioning procedures and test documentation. Advise on Vendor proposals and extent of commissioning scope through all commissioning stages. Attend Vendor / Supplier coordination meetings as required. Work pack development and close out- assemble all required documentation, assist with development of basis of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS). Develop technical / QA documentation as required to fulfill commissioning activities. Resolve discipline / equipment related site / engineering queries, prepare, and submit Request for Information (RFI) documents to clarify design intent or resolve construction and commissioning issues. Manage Punch list process for discipline specific punch items- (Raise PL items, track and close out). Coordinate Construction completion tracking, handover, Construction Completion Certificate (CCC) sign-off and acceptance. Input into Commissioning Readiness Review process. Provide engineering assistance as required for UGL MEI scope field installation, functional and remote commissioning activities. Collaborate with third-party inspectors and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals. Assist with completion of all project documentation and closeout activities in accordance with project requirements and industry standards. Manage change orders and variations to scope, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes are followed. Electrical HV Commissioning Engineer specific- Oversee Contractor implementation of HV systems commissioning- Review and advise on Contractor resolution of technical / engineering issues and proposed actions. Advise on regulatory compliance queries / issues. Advise and coordinate any regulatory compliance requirements associated with HV energisation- Tie-in to the Intake Substation, Earthing tests and reports. Electrical LV Commissioning Engineer specific- Oversee Vendor implementation of LV systems commissioning- review and advise on Vendor resolution of technical / engineering issues and proposed actions. Advise on regulatory compliance queries / issues. Advise and coordinate any regulatory compliance requirements associated with LV systems energisation- Certificate of electrical safety. About you 5 years’ experience in Electrical Commissioning Engineer roles with at least 5 years’ experience in Design or Project / Discipline Engineer roles. Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally. Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Access and email. Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills.
