Community Development Officer - First Nations 3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Temporary Part Time until January 2026 Role Our Community Development department is a dedicated team working with the community to foster belonging and wellbeing. We are seeking a Community Development Officer - First Nations to join us. This role involves: Continue to develop the relationship between Swan Hill Rural City Council and First Nations communities in the municipality Actively promote and facilitate the opportunity to become involved in the First Nations Advisory Committee (FNAC) and other organizational bodies Encourage and facilitate the development of collaborative partnerships with relevant key stakeholders Work collaboratively to deliver initiatives that support and promote Reconciliation, including community celebration of significant dates such as NAIDOC and Reconciliation Week All About You We are looking for a Community Development Officer – First Nations with: Experience in building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, including community leaders, organizations, and residents Experience in working with the community and achieving outcomes for the First Nations community within a government context Skills in facilitating multi-stakeholder groups to identify community needs and create shared solutions Ability to navigate government processes to support the aspirations of the First Nations community Strong communication skills, adaptable to different audiences Ability to work independently, make decisions, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Applicants must provide a Police Check and Working with Children Check prior to employment. What We Can Offer You This temporary part-time position, offering 32 hours per week is until January 2026 and attracts approximately $36.90 per hour. In addition, superannuation is paid at 14.5%.
