NHS Fife Older Adult Community Mental Health Services An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team, and we would like to welcome applications from highly motivated individuals, with a background in working with older adults with mental illness, to join us as a Community Mental Health Nurse. You will be based at Kinnaird ward, Stratheden hospital, Cupar. In applying for this role, you will be a nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. The registered applicant will be expected to have knowledge of, and experience in, dealing with issues relating to the health and wellbeing of older adults with mental illness. They will be able to engage with patients to help work on their recovery and personal outcomes.We are seeking a confident individual who has the skills to deal with challenging situations, on their own, in patient’s homes across East Fife, and who demonstrates an appreciation of the diversity of the workload. You will hold your own caseload and be expected to complete mental health assessments and implement and evaluate person-centred individualised care plans. You must possess excellent communication skills and be adaptable to change and evidence continual personal development.The successful candidate will work independently but also be part of the multidisciplinary team and provide supervision for student nurses and health care support workers.There is a need to use IT systems such as Microsoft Office and Morse. Successful applicants will receive a full induction and supervision. IT IS VITAL THAT THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE CAN TRAVEL ACROSS A LARGE GEOGRAPHICAL AREA IN A TIMELY MANNER. Working pattern – The service operates within office hours Monday to Friday 0900-1700, although there may be the addition of weekend working in future.
