About the role Our client is seeking a high-level Construction Manager to lead their high-quality commercial construction projects. This role requires an individual with strong leadership abilities, exceptional planning and scheduling abilities, and a commitment to safety and craftsmanship.You will oversee multiple jobs across Melbourne and some regional in the Tier 2 & Tier 3 space. Tasks and Responsibilities Oversee and lead the company's portfolio of projects, ensuring effective management and top-quality workmanship at every stage of the project. Take full responsibility for all commercial and construction activities, including head contracts, subcontracts, procurement, budgeting, cost control, delivery, and project cash flows. Foster innovation by introducing new work practices, construction methods, and materials to enhance construction efficiency and profitability. Collaborate with the Managing Director on strategic business planning and development. Implement a strong performance management framework, ensuring transparency in time, cost, and profit across all projects. Skills and Experience Extensive experience (10 years +) in construction, within a 1st or 2nd Tier construction company environment. Ideally, 5 years experience as a PM followed by 5 years experience as a Construction Manager. Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management - Ideally a Bachelor of Construction Management. Proven experience in programming and scheduling, managing budgets coupled with the ability and proven track record to deliver top-tier results. Strong financial acumen. Strong communication skills, with a preference for resolving issues through phone or face-to-face meetings rather than relying on emails.
