Job Description

The position works closely with the CEO to manage company aircraft, including aircraft engines, propellers, appliances, emergency equipment, and parts in accordance with CASR Part 42, Company Expositions, Management and Policy Manual related policies and procedures. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Establishment and development of maintenance programs for the aircraft managed by the organisation. Management and approval of maintenance programs. Manage the approval of modifications and repairs. Ensuring modifications and repairs (changes) are carried out to an approved standard. Ensuring all maintenance is carried out in accordance with the AMP and released to service in accordance with the requirements of this manual. Ensuring all applicable airworthiness directives and operational directives, with a continued airworthiness impact, are complied with. Ensuring all known defects are rectified or are deferred. Coordination of scheduled maintenance, the application of airworthiness directives, the replacement of service life limited parts, and component inspections to ensure the work is carried out properly. Manage all continuing airworthiness records. Ensuring the weight and balance statement reflects the current status of the aircraft. The relationship with the Part 145 maintenance organisation(s) and establishment of a maintenance contract. That the Certificate of Airworthiness for each aircraft managed by the company remains valid in respect of: The airworthiness of the aircraft. Any other condition specified in the Certificate. Reporting any occurrences of a maintenance nature to CASA and the aircraft manufacturer (this includes both mandatory occurrences and occurrences related to maintenance findings, which fall outside the mandatory scheme). The amendment and control of this exposition. Review and implementation, as appropriate, of any additional national requirements. Application and review of the continuing airworthiness. Implement and promote health, safety, and environment policies. Implement and promote Human Factors principles in all functional areas. Qualifications Have the following experience: At least 3 years experience in continuing airworthiness management of aircraft. Have at least one of the following qualifications: Hold, or have held, an aircraft engineer license in category B1, B2, or C (or equivalent). Have a qualification in aircraft maintenance at least at Certificate IV level. Have a qualification in aviation maintenance management at least at diploma level. Have an engineering qualification at least at diploma level in any of the following disciplines: aeronautical, avionics, mechanical, electrical, or electronics. Also have the following: Comprehensive knowledge of the regulations and standards applicable to airworthiness of aircraft authorised to operate under the AOC. Knowledge of the CAMO’s exposition. Knowledge of the relevant parts of the AOC holder’s operations manual that have continuing airworthiness implications for aircraft authorised to operate under the AOC. Knowledge of the CAMO’s quality system. Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal communication skills. Performance indicators To be effective in this position it is expected the incumbent will: Ensure fleet meets all CASA requirements for airworthiness standards. Minimal AOG situations due to mechanical failures. Accurately forecast and manage the labour requirements within the engineering division.
