Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) is seeking an experienced and motivated Coordinator - School Support Accountants to lead and support the School Support Accountants (SSA) Team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the financial health and reporting compliance of CEWA schools.About the Role As the Coordinator - School Support Accountants , you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the operations of the SSA Team to ensure high-quality financial and management reporting across CEWA schools. You will work closely with the Team Leader - SSA, Group Financial Controller, and Chief Financial Officer to support financial governance, audit processes, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate the daily operations of the SSA Team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Oversee the preparation of school annual financial accounts and contribute to CEWA's consolidated reporting. Work collaboratively with auditors and internal teams to enhance financial procedures and address audit findings proactively. Support schools in budgeting and financial planning, particularly those identified as financially at risk. Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and CEWA financial governance policies. Review and provide recommendations for unbudgeted expenditure and financial approvals. Lead professional learning initiatives for financial management within CEWA schools. Drive performance improvement and professional development within the SSA Team. Promote a strong internal control environment to improve financial processes and services. About You To be successful in this role, you will have:Essential: Prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of your duties. Tertiary qualifications in finance, business, or a related discipline. Significant experience in financial management, reporting, and leadership. Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, budgeting, tax, and treasury functions. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. High-level proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. The ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. A proactive and strategic approach to financial governance and team leadership. Desirable: Experience in an education or not-for-profit environment. School management or public practice experience.
