Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We are looking for an experienced and technically savvy lawyer to join the Amazon Legal team supporting Project Kuiper. You will be responsible for regulatory filings, primarily in the Asia Pacific region, as well as analyzing complex and novel issues with high visibility. You will work independently to deliver results, and also frequently collaborate with various legal and other stakeholders on strategic decisions. The successful candidate will work closely with Kuiper’s technical teams, regulatory teams, business teams, and other legal teams. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. You will learn the technical details of our innovative constellation, satellites, software, and ground-based infrastructure. You will regularly strategize about the best ways we can work with regulators to benefit our customers, particularly those in unserved and underserved communities. This position will be based in Sydney, Australia. Some travel will be required. No space travel is required. Minimum Requirements: 5+ years of legal experience Law degree and admission to relevant bar association Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines Experience with satellite communications and regulatory filings Strong communication skills (verbal, written, oral) Acknowledgement of country:In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
