Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Performance Manager will manage and help embed and mature an integrated approach to corporate planning, performance measurement and performance reporting in order to:• provide timely, high-quality and insightful analyses and reports on organizational performance and capability• meet internal and external reporting obligations• demonstrate AIFS' impact as the national agency researching child and family wellbeing.About us The Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS, or 'the Institute') is the Australian Government's key research body in the area of family wellbeing. It is an independent statutory authority established in 1980 under the Family Law Act 1975. The Institute is an agency within the portfolio of the Department of Social Services (DSS).We conduct research, provide independent advice and communicate findings to policy makers, service providers and the community about factors affecting family wellbeing. Our work builds an evidence base about 'what works for families'. Through our research, we contribute to developing policy and practice to promote the wellbeing of families in Australia.Our team The Finance, Risk and Performance Team is responsible for managing all strategic and operational financial and non-financial performance activities and functions for AIFS. It also has responsibility for managing risk across the Institute.The team supports the Institute's leaders to develop budgets and forecasts, and to report against the strategic goals that determine the Institute's future directions. As such, the Finance Team embodies our organisational values and behaviours.Position Requirements This role will provide administrative and coordination support for cross-functional business activities such as business development initiatives, major procurements and other research development activities as required.This role will also oversee the project management approach for AIFS that will see the Finance team coordinate the onboarding of new research projects, following a successful procurement outcome ahead of project commencement.The key duties of the position include • Manage AIFS' performance reporting cycles, processes and data collection for internal needs and external reporting obligations under the Commonwealth Performance Management Framework, including: the Portfolio Budget Statement, Corporate Plan and Annual Report.• Manage the onboarding of new research projects, following a successful procurement outcome ahead of project commencement in line with established practice.• Manage the development and implementation of a performance measurement framework, including standards and counting rules for data and performance related databases and the coordination of the development and collection of new stakeholder surveys in line with the AIFS Performance Management Framework. The latter will be supported by a high-level steering committee in its first year.• Consider and effectively manage competing priorities and strategic directions when achieving team planning and project outcomes in line with agency goals and objectives.• Provide a significant contribution to innovation and business improvement strategies.• Manage and maintain databases and other tools to capture business activities including bid activity and outcomes, staff expertise and capability, and organisational capabilities.• Analyse and interpret performance, financial and key performance indicator data to identify and develop key performance indicators, track performance against targets and provide performance information as required.• Provide expert advice on performance and process improvements across the organisation.• Undertake analyses of organizational performance as required to meet internal needs and compliance with external reporting obligations for Commonwealth agencies.• Produce timely, high-quality and meaningful reports as required.• Identify risks and opportunities for improved performance against targets.• Maintain awareness of emerging issues, trends and reporting best practice to identify and implement improved performance reporting.• Work across the organisation to assist in embedding quality and relevant performance plans and data collection processes, as well as providing insightful findings.• Collaborate with the AIFS Privacy team to incorporate privacy practices into work undertaken within the team.Key Selection Criteria • Professional expertise• Understanding our organisation• Delivering on objectives and achieving results• Relationships and interpersonal skills• Communication• Leadership and management• Values and integrityFor a comprehensive overview of the selection criteria, please see the Position Description for more information. #J-18808-Ljbffr
