Job Position: Country Program Manager, Vanuatu Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Australia Role Type: Permanent, Full-timeSalary: EWB Salary Band 3Location: Port Vila, Vanuatu (travel required) About EWB (Engineers Without Borders):EWB Australia is a purpose-driven organization operating in the Asia-Pacific, including offices in Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Vanuatu, and Australia. EWB in Vanuatu: EWB Vanuatu focuses on technology benefiting Ni-Vanuatu people, emphasizing underrepresented groups like women and people with disabilities in rural and peri-urban areas. Collaborating with public, private, NGO, and community stakeholders, the program delivers impactful engineering projects. Key Responsibilities 1. Leadership of the Vanuatu Team Manage and support local staff and volunteers, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture. Strengthen links with other EWB offices across the Asia-Pacific region. 2. Program Planning, Management, and Growth Develop and manage engineering programs, including strategic planning and budget oversight. Build relationships with stakeholders (NGOs, private enterprises, and social initiatives) in sectors like WASH and gender-transformative technologies. Lead the development of new project concepts and sectoral focus areas. 3. Project Management and Delivery Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring quality assurance, proper documentation, and continuous improvement. Monitor project outputs and align them with strategic objectives. Management Relationships The role reports to the Senior Manager, International Engineering Programs (based internationally) and collaborates with local teams, other country programs, and volunteers. Selection Criteria Qualification in fields like project management, business administration, or international development. Proficient in English (written and verbal). 5+ years of relevant experience in program management, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement. Strong program management, monitoring, and evaluation skills. Proven interpersonal and leadership skills. Fluent in Bislama. Engineering/STEM qualifications and experience in WASH, energy, or infrastructure projects.
