About the role: The role is responsible for supporting a portfolio of large corporate relationships, the credit risk analysis for those relationships, and continuously monitoring the portfolio, ensuring adherence to credit policies and risk frameworks across the wholesale trading environment. This includes strategic oversight of all credit reviews including counterparty assessments and contract governance, supporting ad-hoc requests and leading cross-functional teams to integrate new products/contracts and counterparties to the business. Key responsibilities: Conduct and provide oversight of counterparty credit assessments and contracts through fundamental credit analysis using quantitative and qualitative factors. Review contracts to identify credit exposure and compliance elements and escalate any risks or issues. Manage end-to-end credit reviews and requests within the wholesale commodities credit function. Monitor, report and provide insights on covered portfolio, following industry trends and impacts on key relationships. Coach, contribute and support a friendly unified team to develop strengths. Analyse and integrate new products and counterparties related to the wholesale trading desk based on independent assessment and judgement. Ensure adequate credit and compliance processes are in place for all new ventures. Support the establishment and governance of counterparty contracts that include ISDA & GSA's. Support peers and varying levels of seniority with reviews, insights and reporting. What will you bring? At least 5 years of professional leadership or senior experience in a major energy, financial services, or professional services organization. Well-developed analytical skills including understanding of key financial components and wholesale credit processes with ability to form independent opinions on credit and emerging risks. Awareness and adherence to compliance, quality assurance and controls within a complex business environment. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage with internal stakeholders on compliance, assurance frameworks and risk controls, as well as supporting team development. Extensive knowledge of trading operations, operational risk mitigation and organisational awareness. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with clear written and verbal communication skills. Experience working on varying complex projects with ability to build relationships, exert influence and manage time and priorities effectively.
