Pay rate: TBCContract length: Role until 6th June 2025Location: Sydney CBD / WFHAbout the Role In this role, we are looking for a Cyber Security Operations specialist to lead a wide range of security operations activities, including (but not limited to) supporting the development and delivery of key initiatives that are required to manage cyber risk, align to policies, regulatory and legal obligations, and create management strategies to ensure best practice across the portfolio, which includes cultural and sports institutions.Key Responsibilities Leading the Security Operations function to ensure that the appropriate security technologies, architectures, control mechanisms, policies and compliance frameworks aligned to recognised standards are delivered and transitioned to BAU to protect the organisation’s systems and information. Act as an escalation point for urgent, complex or highly sensitive systems issues across Cyber Security determining appropriate responses and the need for further escalation to the CISO. Manage the delivery of reporting to key stakeholders on the status of information security threats, key risk indicators and initiatives. Work and engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment of information security strategies with overall business objectives. Lead the implementation of a comprehensive program of security controls, including (but not limited to) managed detection and response, email security gateway, public key infrastructure, zero-trust architecture, vulnerability management, penetration testing etc. to identify and assess threats, weaknesses, and non-conformance, contributing to effective risk mitigation. Support and co-ordinate incident response in the event of a cyber incident. Participate in risk management activities and carry out key mitigation and treatment control implementation. Manage and deliver multiple tasks, activities, projects and deadlines, often in partnership with other state and commonwealth agencies, while resolving program issues in a complex and sensitive stakeholder environment. Skills and Experience Required Experience in understanding contemporary cyber security frameworks. Familiarity with security operation tools or experience in a security operations centre. Ability to effectively develop strong strategic working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. Experience in developing performance reporting, metrics and trends analysis on problem incidents. Tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security Operations, ICT Technical Management or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience.
