Job Description

This is a pivotal career development opportunity in a strategic forward-thinking environment to drive dam safety.It is responsible for ensuring dam safety risks are systematically identified, assessed and managed across Victoria's large dams portfolio.As the technical lead for dam safety in the department, it has a strong focus in contributing to an effective culture and ensuring the department continues to drive best practice dam safety.What you'll bring We're looking for a proactive self-starter who thrives on delivering outstanding results. You will have a proven track record in working collaboratively in complex risk management to deliver strategic outcomes. Your outcomes thinking, collaboration, project delivery and data management skills will enable you to formulate dam safety policy options, manage and lead dam safety projects and contribute to a best practice dam safety regulatory framework. You will have an appropriate tertiary qualification in engineering, natural sciences, natural resource management or equivalent. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications An appropriate qualification in engineering, natural sciences, natural resource management or equivalent. A thorough understanding of risk management as applied to high consequence, low likelihood events. An understanding of dam safety in an Australian context and knowledge and experience in dam safety management and the application of the ANCOLD Guidelines. Knowledge and experience in emergency management and incident response. This is an ongoing position.
