Job Description

Reporting to the Construction Manager and Project Director, this role will support the day-to-day construction works at our McPhee Creek and Marble Bar Road projects. It will manage the safe systems of work, as well as be heavily involved in the delivery and execution strategies for the permanent and construction contractor workforce. It will ensure the HanRoy health and safety projects, targets and goals are achieved, and our contractor workforce is managed against these goals. Key Duties: Ensure compliance with government obligations regarding Health and Safety (H&S) is met and delivered. Ensure all contractors are prepared and ready for site mobilisation, have suitable and fit for purpose systems and processes to work across multiple construction work fronts. Lead investigations, support and facilitate risk assessments and drive positive outcomes as part of the owner’s team. Champion safety and attend the monthly departmental H&S meetings, pre-start meetings and other meetings that may have relevant health and safety subject matter. Work with the projects team to ensure effective training and execution of safety policies and procedures for the project location. Provide advice and recommendations to line leadership on H&S issues affecting performance. Assist with the development of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and operating procedures. Assist with verification and validation of contractor documentation in line with HanRoy contractor management systems. Assist with the roll out of corporate and site-based health and safety initiatives. Support the facilitation of incident investigation and assist with gathering of evidence. Maintain data in the incident reporting system and produce statistical reports with commentary as required. Support the broader contractor workforce, particularly the operational teams and supervisors, through promotion and implementation of health and safety programs and awareness. Support the HanRoy Health and Safety Team across the business. Reporting: Present audit findings to the departmental managers and other management as required. Write investigation reports and present to line leadership and external parties. Keep departments informed of H&S issues and developments in the industry or broader business environment, which may affect the Mine operations. Maintain H&S documentation as required for outside regulatory agencies. Participate in and conduct studies and research into H&S programs and other projects. Monitor health and safety management systems to ensure alignment to HanRoy Health, Safety and Emergency Management Performance Standards and related policies and plans. Cert IV or Diploma of Work Health and Safety. Undergraduate and/or Postgraduation studies towards an occupational health, safety or risk management certification designed for WHS practitioners OR Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety. Bachelor's Degree or Graduate Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety. Nationally recognised drivers’ licence (C Class). Ability to work 12 / 9 FIFO from Perth for up to 12 months. Current Drivers Licence.
