Do you have a good understanding of mechanical engineering principles? Are you comfortable liaising with customers to understand their operational requirements, presenting solutions and supporting them during project implementation? This vendor-side solutions provider has created a new opportunity for a Consultant to join their Sydney operation. Reporting directly to the Head of New Business (ANZ) and supporting a successful sales team, the new appointee to this critical role will analyse customer data as well as engage with them on site to fully understand their business requirements before developing bespoke warehouse automation system designs, layouts and project estimates for winning presentations and bids. Working closely with in-country and overseas colleagues, you will: Analyse available data and audit customer operations to develop design level documentation. Develop models that reflect the customers current business and highlight the effects of proposed enhancements. Provide technical design, layout and estimating support to sales staff. Complete design and estimation in accordance with realisation formats and procedures, also seeking input from other functions, as required. Assist the sales team with the preparation of proposals (incl. Description of Operation) and tender submissions. Participate in increasing the collective knowledge of the team, both technical and competitiveness. Develop understanding of WMS functionality and application. Be responsible for post contract implementation of non-physical aspects of company systems, including: operational planning guides operational flow charts methods & procedures develop testing procedures and training programs Review functional specifications for system software together with the Software Engineer. Assist in monitoring & auditing final implementation and performance of system to ensure customer requirements have been met. About you: You’re probably already working as a Solutions Consultant or Data Analyst in a logistics / automated warehouse environment (whether 3PL, vendor or consultancy) or you have done so in the past. In addition to your aptitude for mechanical engineering (or qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar), you are/have: Ambitious to broaden your role scope Excellent analytical skills Strategic thinker with strong prioritisation and time-management skills A confident presenter with excellent client-facing interpersonal skills. A great team player Good communication skills including excellent written and verbal English language. Strong attention to detail Microsoft office knowledge Experience of working with AutoCAD / Revit or similar.
