The role We are looking for a Data Engineer/Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team and help us architect and build awesome data and analytics solutions for our clients. This is a 6-month contract role , with the potential for extension. You will be flexible and creative to ensure the right data solutions are fit for purpose. You will primarily work on client consulting engagements to deliver data engineering solutions and identify opportunities to improve or innovate. You will also have the opportunity to work on projects as part of “Furō Labs” - our research, development, and innovation incubator. What you’ll do Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and requirements. Perform data architecture/maturity assessments and formulate recommendations for our clients. Recommend improvements to data reliability, efficiency, and quality, and provide high quality data assets for enterprise use. Collate, process, transform, and model raw data from multiple sources, and utilise different data sourcing, integration, and modelling techniques. Ensure data reliability, quality, and performance standards. Provide training and support for users and customers. Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to the team. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Data focussed technologies/tools, frameworks, trends and best practices. Contribute towards continuous improvement activities/initiatives. What you’ll need Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience 4+ years experience in data engineering, preferably in a consulting or professional services environment. Experience in deploying and developing data platforms using Databricks. Experience in assessing both on-prem and cloud native data environments. Experience in data modelling, data warehousing, and data quality. Strong programming skills in SQL and Python. Experience with dbt or other data transformation tools. Experience with creation and maintenance of artefacts relating to data models. Experience in designing, developing, and implementing robust data pipelines. Experience building CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions. You are proactive, can work autonomously and will take ownership of your tasks and the outcomes you are seeking to deliver.
