Category: Information & Communication Technology Full-time Location: Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney NSW, QLD, VIC, WA We are currently recruiting for a Data Systems Analyst to join our Data Analytics team. This position can be based in any of our offices in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney. THE ROLE The Data Analyst will collaborate with Business stakeholders, D&T product managers and Data Engineering to gather, refine and document accurate and meaningful data product requirements. You will also be involved in data modelling and BI development. This role will collaborate with stakeholders to enhance our knowledge of business applications and processes to streamline data ingestion and analytics processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a passion for high quality documentation, an ability to work across teams and SQL skills. You will also be capable of data modelling and building BI dashboards using Tableau. You will have the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels of the business (from internal customer to C-suite) to achieve the correct outcomes. Key responsibilities: Gathering and documenting business and technical requirements to enable development of data products Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with functional product managers, application owners, data engineers, and business users to align data solutions with reporting and analytical requirements, ensuring the data aligns with end-user expectations Data Quality and Governance: Support data quality initiatives by identifying data anomalies and inconsistencies in source applications, working with product managers to establish data governance practices across our business systems Data Mapping and Documentation: Create and maintain data dictionaries, data mappings, and other technical documentation to guide data ingestion and data transformation efforts. SQL Development: Write efficient SQL queries to extract, analyse and validate data from diverse databases, supporting analytical needs and improving data pipeline reliability Reporting Alignment: Work with data engineers, data analytics and business stakeholders to aid the translation of data structures into reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions that provide actionable insights Review the data engineering pipelines and data models to ensure accurate transformations and business rules in both the operational data store and Datawarehouse have occurred Progressing the data discovery work to developing semantic data models and BI data products in Tableau for the business THE PERSON Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field Experience: 2+ years of experience in a System Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Business Analyst role with a focus on gathering business and technical requirements for the development of data products Proficiency in SQL, with experience writing complex queries for data extraction and analysis Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) to enhance data transformation and analysis capabilities Familiarity with relational databases, data models, and data warehousing concepts Knowledge of dimensional modelling (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema) for data warehouse design Ability to map business processes and identify how data flows through applications to inform engineering solutions THE BENEFITS Multiple salary packing options to make your dollar go further Easy access to 100+ retail discounts Opportunity to grow your career and further develop your skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
