Leave loading of 17.5% Employee Assistance Program Discounted health insurance and free flu shots each year THE ROLE Our Education Support Officers contribute to the effectiveness of the learning program by collaborating with the class teacher and wellbeing worker allocated to the class. Learning Support Educators support the facilitation of educational outcomes for students. This may include but is not limited to literacy and numeracy intervention programs, in-class support, our on-site and TAFE based VET program, all incursions, excursions and school activities including camps. Trauma-informed practice and understanding is an integral part of this position within our school community. Learning Support Educators do hold responsibilities of supervision of students, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains with VIT registered staff. Work collaboratively within your triad team and across school departments to support student growth and short-term objectives aligned with their Individual Learning Plans. Assist teachers and wellbeing workers with classroom engagement, providing evidence-based strategies to support the learning outcomes for students. Assist in the preparation of student curriculum support resources and equipment, including modification of curriculum materials and NCCD documentation. Salary will be $64,613 to $71,742 pro-rata per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation. The David Scott School is a special assistance school located in Frankston. We are currently supporting students who have experienced barriers to striving in a mainstream school setting. We support students within the Victorian Pathways Certificate and VCE-Vocation Major Certificate. Our students are vibrant, diverse and resilient, aged 15-20 years old. As an LSE (Learning Support Educator) you will be collaborating within a class team, consisting of a classroom teacher and Wellbeing professional. Experience working with young people in adolescence or high school settings. Experience with trauma-informed practices and disability difference and diversity.
