The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.IUIH has developed the Deadly Choices Strategy in combination with consortium members across Queensland and the Deadly Choices brand and programs are widely recognised as cutting-edge health promotion and education initiatives.About the Role? As a Program Development officer, you will be responsible for leadership in the ongoing development and review of the content, state-wide application and delivery of Deadly Choices programs to ensure the integrity, quality and effectiveness of program brand, implementation and outcomes. Within this position, you will support program implementation and address issues as they arise through training, development, and evaluation as well as monitor and review program delivery, content, systems, processes and outcomes to inform continuous quality improvement.Your day-to-day duties will require you to: Support the implementation of a structured workforce development plan that underpins continuous service development and improvement, including standard structures, staff training plans and ongoing professional development. Assist in the development of local/regional capability evaluations and develop plans to improve capability. Manage the timely provision of support, mentoring and advice to Regional DC Coordinators and DC Program Officers as requested, to assist in building capability. Undertake the piloting of new program content to ensure successful implementation, appropriateness, and quality are obtained. Conduct regular site visits to support the piloting of program content and understand the needs of program content when undertaking review. Identify best practice program delivery processes, promote and disseminate learnings to Regional Teams. As directed, undertake short term placements in regional/local teams, to provide direct relief to DC Program Coordinators/Officers. About You? Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD). Current Working with Children Check (QLD Blue Card) – required prior to your commencement. Current Criminal History Check – Willing to obtain upon commencement. Desirable, but not mandatory: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities.Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applications highly encouraged to apply.
