Role details The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Deadly Choices Project Officer (Female) to join their team on a temporary basis. Your opportunity The role sits within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit. The primary purpose of the Deadly Choices Female Project Officer is to implement the “Deadly Choices” Program facilitating to Junior and Secondary schools in the MHHS regions, based on health education, promotion, and prevention activities. The program informs participants about staying strong and healthy, maintaining healthy lifestyles and making positive lifestyle choices. The program nurtures leadership and encourages participants to become positive mentors and role models in their community. This position reports to the Youth and Young People's Coordinator. About The Team The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit is an essential element of the Mackay Hospital and Health Service support services and ensures the development and delivery of culturally appropriate services and models of health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and families.
