Delivery Manager (Software)

Job Description

As a Delivery Manager, you will be a key leader within our software engineering department, responsible for overseeing the successful execution of software development projects. You will play a pivotal role in leading your team through the entire development lifecycle, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Build, mentor, and motivate your multi-disciplinary team to drive high performance in day-to-day project delivery and estimating activities. Set and manage clear performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and support career development of team members. Project Management: Developing and executing project plans, managing timelines, and tracking progress to ensure successful delivery. Track project progress against timelines, identify and address potential risks or delays, and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables. Collaborate with development teams, analysts, and quality assurance teams to prioritize and manage backlogs, ensuring that work is aligned with project objectives and quality standards. Identify and address conflicting resource requirements or dependencies between different project activities to ensure smooth project execution. Quality Assurance: Ensuring that software products meet rigorous quality standards through effective testing and quality control processes. Ensuring that software products meet requirements and objective goals of each project. Establish and track key quality metrics such as re-opens, hotfixes and support requests. Conduct postmortems and retros on releases and hotfix to continue to drive quality results. Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align expectations and drive project success. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve development processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Successfully lead and manage your teams within the Agile framework, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Consistently deliver high-quality software products that meet or exceed customer expectations and project deadlines. Demonstrate effective project planning and execution, ensuring projects are delivered with the expected level of quality. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance software development processes, tools, and methodologies. Provide effective technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering their professional growth and skills enhancement. Demonstrate excellent communication skills by effectively conveying project status, risks, and progress to senior management and stakeholders. Some Deliverables in Your First Six Weeks: Develop a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the projects being managed. Perform the performance management process to evaluate team member performance against targets and proactively identify areas for improvement. Implement and update a standardized project management methodology to enhance project efficiency and consistency. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture by promoting teamwork, communication, and knowledge sharing. Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, executives, and cross-functional teams. Tracking Progress: An initial review will be held with your manager after 3-months to discuss progress. Additional performance reviews will be scheduled at 6-months (end of probationary period) and 12 months and will continue every 6-months.
