Deputy Director Defence Intelligence Group Psychology $134,567 - $161,521 (EL 2) + BDCP + Super Are you passionate about applying your leadership skills in a dynamic, high tempo organisational setting? Do you enjoy developing and enhancing service delivery in line with broader enterprise needs? The Defence Intelligence Group (DIG) is seeking a highly motivated Deputy Director Psychology. The Deputy Director will support the Director Psychology in achieving strategic objectives and provide senior leadership, including: Strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders on security psychology and welfare matters; Demonstrating an ability to deliver on priorities and monitor work flow and performance; Undertake clinical supervision and quality assurance/governance of team psychologists; Developing, enhancing, and evaluating programs and initiatives; Providing strategic direction, including development of policy and processes; Initiating, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. About our Team The Defence Intelligence Group (DIG) Psychology team delivers services across the entire Group. The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to help mature the psychology services in the DIG and provide specialist capability and support functions to Defence intelligence. You will develop, coach and review individual, team and business performance, and identify opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement. You will engage with key stakeholders across the Group and other parts of the Defence Organisation and National Intelligence Community, as well as relevant international counterparts. Our Ideal Candidate This is a trusted position with the Group. We are looking for candidates with strong people management skills and knowledge to lead a high performing and cohesive team and provide high level clinical supervision and governance. They will need to provide strategic leadership and operational management of security psychology services and participate in the development of corporate strategy at the agency level. Individuals who can work with considerable independence, are able to perform very complex psychological assessments, analysis and reporting work within an integrated workforce will be considered.
