The position Canberra Girls Grammar School (CGGS) is seeking a dedicated and professional Deputy Director of Boarding to play a pivotal role in fostering a caring and supportive environment for our boarding students. The Deputy Head of Boarding will support the Director of Boarding in cultivating a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment, offering pastoral care, academic support, and effective supervision. A key responsibility includes organising weekend activities and excursions, ensuring students have a rewarding, holistic experience as CGGS boarders. This leadership role is central to creating a true "home away from home" for our students. As a positive role model, the Deputy Head of Boarding will exemplify high professional standards and contribute to the overall wellbeing and development of boarding students. This role requires a supportive, calm, and proactive leader who can uphold a “firm but fair” communication style, and someone who can act as the Director of Boarding in their absence. It will be an advantage if you can demonstrate or hold: An understanding of adolescent behaviour and caring for students’ needs in a residential environment. Tertiary qualifications in education, health, allied health or counselling Demonstrated sound judgement, tact and discretion.
