Deputy Head Risk Management, FMG Deputy Head, Risk Management, Financial Markets Group (Line 1 risk) Are you ready to join Financial Markets Group (FMG) and play a pivotal role in transforming risk management at the Reserve Bank of Australia?We are seeking an experienced leader to join us in a strategic Line 1 role, to support the FMG identify, analyse and manage risks related to our operations in financial markets, enhance risk culture and progressively advance our risk management practices.Reporting directly to the Assistant Governor, Financial Markets, this newly created role will build and develop a team of dedicated first line risk professionals. This team will support our management of material risks to ensure we stay ahead of an ever-evolving risk landscape.As a Deputy Head you will lead a team to Develop and implement a strategy for risk transformation within FMG. Support the design and management of processes and systems in FMG to ensure that the Bank's operations in financial markets support their policy and operational objectives. Advise on and develop frameworks for the analysis of the financial and operational risk implications of monetary and financial stability policies, bringing this into their design. Collaborate with business areas to enhance business resilience, including the development and testing of contingency plans for both financial market and operational disruptions. Support ongoing improvements to strategies, systems, and processes. Support the preparation of papers for relevant Board and Management Committee meetings. Work collaboratively with our Enterprise Risk and Compliance Team (Line 2) and Internal Audit to provide integrated assurance to the Governance Board and Board Audit & Risk Committee. Coach and advise FMG staff to foster strong risk culture. Represent the Bank in external working groups and conferences, as required. Your Background Working knowledge of central bank operations and/or Australian and international financial markets. Working knowledge of risk management. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans at a section or department level. Ability to lead risk transformation within a central bank or other financial institution. Ability to apply risk management and practices to central banking operations, with the ability to navigate complex risk landscapes. Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing inclusive, collaborative and high-performing teams. Strong communication with the demonstrated ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and inclusive with diverse cross-functional teams. Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, risk, compliance or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
