Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Create Alert Employment type – Temporary (Full Time) up to January 2026 Salary – $110,266 – $122,058 per annum, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Your role We are looking for an outstanding individual to join a team of specialists responsible for the product operations of customer centric websites and intranets for the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). This role provides specialist technical product development, management and support services for DCJ websites and intranets. Working within a lean Agile cross discipline environment, this role delivers products in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team that facilitate the achievement of business outcomes through the use of process and technology. Reporting to the Senior Development Officer, Product Operations you’ll assist in the implementation and management of technical development and evaluation of DCJ websites and intranets that achieve documented requirements and contribute to the department achieving its strategic objectives. What you’ll do The Digital Development Officer is a key support role for managing product operations spanning the department’s websites and intranets across multiple content management systems. This role collaborates with stakeholders to understand and translate user stories to technical design approaches that ensure the solution is sustainable and consideration is given to user needs and associated interfaces with other systems, so it is fit for purpose and fit for use in accordance with agreed outcomes. You will provide advice on accessibility, usability, web standards and other critical digital publishing and production topics to users and colleagues to enhance knowledge and skills and contribute to effective project management. The Communications team works collaboratively within Corporate Services to develop strategies, plans and resources that contribute to the department achieving its strategic objectives. The team works across digital and traditional communication channels, including print, social media, online (websites and intranets), events and face-to-face to deliver communication strategy that is aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives and NSW Government Design Standards. The Digital Experience team is responsible for managing the DCJ websites and intranets. Through these channels we provide an inclusive, consistent, high-quality digital experience for our clients and customers. What we’re looking for Strong understanding of the regulatory environment for government digital communications, including security, accessibility (including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG AA)), usability, compliance with legislative requirements, brand management and procurement Experience with one or more Java concepts and patterns including: Java/J2EE, JSP, Spring, Sling, JMS, JUnit, MVC, Eclipse Experience with advanced web and digital product development techniques and frameworks including development of templates, workflows, and design patterns (e.g. Object Oriented CSS and JS) Demonstrated experience working on large scale digital products powered by Enterprise Content Management System (CMS) such as Adobe Experience Manager Knowledge of configuring and working with build tools and source code management systems (e.g. Git, SVN, Maven, Grunt etc) Experience working in Agile Scrum teams Advanced knowledge of web and mobile accessibility and experience delivering accessible code (including W3C, WAI-ARIA, WCAG) What We Offer A challenging and rewarding career Flexible, autonomous work environment Competitive pay and conditions Training and development opportunities to build and maintain capabilities Health & Wellbeing and Employee Assistance Programs.
