About the Role The Digital Learning, Senior Advisor with a focus on instructional design is responsible for creating effective learning solutions that enhance employee skills and knowledge. This role requires a strong background in instructional design principles, stakeholder engagement, adult learning theories, and the ability to develop engaging learning experiences that align with organisational goals. Position Duties Needs Assessment and Analysis Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct comprehensive Learning Needs Analysis (LNA), identifying skills and knowledge gaps, and defining clear learning objectives and desired outcomes. Instructional Design Develop holistic learning solutions encompassing instructional materials, eLearning modules, training programs, presentations, workshops, webinars, and classroom training. Employ adult learning principles and user-centred design methodologies to enhance learner engagement and effectiveness. Engagement and Communication Create and disseminate clear communications regarding Digital Learning Team (DLT) training activities. Organise and lead information sessions to increase stakeholder awareness and understanding of learning initiatives. Deliver impactful presentations at town halls, team meetings, and various forums, effectively representing the team at internal and external events. Training Facilitation Facilitate engaging training sessions that promote an interactive learning environment, encouraging participant involvement and knowledge retention. Collaboration and Coordination Collaborate with the Digital Learning Development and Delivery team to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery of learning solutions. Provide expert guidance to external stakeholders on externally led learning solutions, coordinating with vendors to ensure quality and alignment with the Commission’s learning and development standards. Manage the intake process for incoming learning solution requests, ensuring a streamlined approach to prioritisation and resource allocation. Position Eligibility Requirements (Selection Criteria) : Three or more years as a Learning and Development Specialist with experience in designing and developing learning solutions including eLearning, user guides, presentations, and training. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Instructional Design, Human Resources, Education or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent experience. Excellent relationship-building skills and willingness to receive and provide constructive feedback to build and sustain positive relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Ability to effectively prioritise requests while maintaining high standards and accuracy. Sound research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Understand and actively demonstrate the APS Code of Conduct and Values. The ability to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance (must be an Australian Citizen). Position Notes: Salary offered will be between $92,970 - $104,883 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid. Only candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply. Appointment is conditional on successfully completing a national police check. Confirming an ongoing/permanent role is available. Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term. Opportunities will be offered for varying periods up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.
