Job Description

Lead the City Services & Living Division at Hume City Council A role where you can deliver and impact our diverse community Reporting directly to the CEO Hume City Council is one of Australia’s fastest growing and most culturally diverse councils. We put the customer and our community at the centre of all that we do, ensuring our services are efficient and accessible. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), you will report directly to the CEO and work collaboratively to provide leadership across the organisation to achieve positive social, environmental and economic outcomes for our community. In this role you’ll be leading a team of five (5) Managers across Health & Community Wellbeing, City Safety, City Lifestyle, Active Living, and Family Youth & Children. The Director City Services and Living is responsible for strategic and operational success and accountability for the delivery of community services to support and enrich the lives of the Hume community. Experience and Capability that drives success will include: Substantial experience at a senior leadership level, including strategic oversight of community, cultural services and programs. Leading change and performance in a complex environment demonstrating adaptability and clarity in the face of ambiguity and competing priorities. Mobilising the talent and capabilities of City Services and Living teams to grow and develop our people. Building enduring relationships with peers, Councillors and Stakeholders. Demonstrating a high standard of governance and risk management. Strong understanding of contemporary challenges and opportunities relevant to local government, including community inclusion, social justice and climate change. The ability to operate both strategically and operationally across City Services and Living and all of Hume. Why Hume City Council?
