The Role Reporting to the Assistant Secretary (AS), the Director, Cyber Security Accreditation is responsible for managing a section of cyber specialists delivering the department’s program of Cyber Accreditation for external stakeholders delivering services on behalf of the department. You will be responsible for running the program as well as engaging with internal and external stakeholders to refine the program and delivery to balance the needs of different stakeholders. You will not need to be a technical cyber specialist, but you will need knowledge of PSPF, ISM, ISO27001, and how they interact in relation to providing cyber assurance to the department and the Australian Government. You will work closely with external stakeholders delivering programs on behalf of DEWR to accredit their IT systems and associated processes to ensure consistency with the cyber requirements of the Australian Government. You will have excellent communication skills with a strong customer service focus and a history of delivering business outcomes through customer engagement, building trust, change management, transparent communication, and clear articulation of requirements and issues. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to embed cyber security accreditation into the day-to-day work of the department as an enabler of business outcomes. You will manage the work of a range of APS and contract cyber specialists and administrative staff delivering the accreditation process, enabling the success of your team and building skills and career pathways for APS staff in the cyber domain. You will plan and report on the work of your section, actively identifying and managing issues that block progress and escalating issues as required. You will work to refine processes and approaches to improve team practices and delivery and may be part of forward planning of architecture direction. You will work independently under broad direction to deliver agreed objectives and outcomes. The successful applicant will receive the necessary training, mentoring, and guidance to perform the key responsibilities of the role and to advance their careers in the Australian Public Service (APS). Duties And Responsibilities Responsibilities of the Executive Level 2 may include: Manage a section of cyber specialists and administrative staff delivering cyber security accreditation to third parties (Right Fit for Risk). Build a positive team and work culture in DEWR. Collaborate with external stakeholders on matters relating to cyber security accreditation. Collaborate with internal DEWR stakeholders on matters relating to cyber security accreditation. Deliver cyber security accreditation efficiently and effectively through ongoing reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. Advise on matters relating to cyber security accreditation. Build cyber security accreditation skills as part of the APS workforce. Participate in Whole of Government initiatives as a Subject Matter Expert as required. Qualifications and Education Essential Knowledge of PSPF, ISM, ISO27001 as they apply to cyber security accreditation. Knowledge of risk management as applied to cyber security accreditation. Knowledge of agile delivery and related methodologies. Desirable Tertiary education or Vocational Education and Training in a related field.
