We are one of the region’s largest employers with a workforce of more than 8,500 across eight hospital sites and more than 60 community health services, and an annual budget of $1.3 billion. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, enabling us to deliver timely and efficient health care to our local communities. We have built an established and experienced executive leadership team and are now seeking an outstanding, commercially focused Director of Finance and Corporate Services (DFC) to join this team. About The Role Reporting to the Chief Executive and as a core member of the Executive Team, the DFC provides support, reporting and expert advice to the CE, the Board and wider NSW Health, shaping the conversation around finance and driving collective decision making. Based from either the Wollongong area or Sydney, the DFC is responsible for leading the financial strategy, managing budget performance and analysis, risk, governance, capital expenditure, the full range of corporate services and other key strategic and operational matters. The DFC works closely with the executive team and the wider NSW Health system around productivity issues, revenue generation, value-based investment / disinvestment decisions, financial accountability and budget compliance, consistent with NSW Health State-wide strategies. The DFC leads a direct team of 9 and a much larger indirect team of 71, fostering a responsive, future focused and contemporary culture which supports staff to deliver true excellence. The capacity to forge strong relationships with key stakeholders including clinical and operational teams, NSW Health, academic and research partners, other NSW local health districts and the wider community is also a key part of the role. About You To succeed in this role, you will be a contemporary executive finance leader, CA or CPA, with experience managing financial directorates within a large, complex, customer focused business. Your experience may have been gained within a public sector setting; we equally value private sector / NFP experience. Critical to your success will be your ability to lead, motivate and inspire your team to be the very best. You will be an outstanding communicator with excellent stakeholder skills and a natural ability to influence and engage at all levels. You will be purpose driven, outcomes focused and collaborative. Essential Requirements The successful candidate will possess relevant tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in accountancy, economics, commerce, finance or a related discipline and membership of a recognised Australian accounting body. This is an ongoing, full time, Band 1, Health Service Senior Executive (HSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $233,482 - $257,585 per annum, with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
