The Opportunity The Director, Health, Safety and Wellbeing leads health and safety efforts at VicGrid, overseeing the team and ensuring safety outcomes across renewable energy developments and projects. They implement safety strategies, manage project risks, advise on best practices, and ensure compliance with legislation. As a member of the VicGrid Leadership Team, the role also contributes to overall strategy and promotes a safety-focused, ethical team culture. What you will deliver Create and foster a high performing and cohesive Safety team, guiding and motivating team members to ensure organisational objectives are met, with a focus on delivering exceptional safety services, ensuring both organisations and government policy objectives, as well as community expectations, are effectively met. Implementation of a comprehensive safety strategy designed to enhance safety standards and practices across the project and wider industry. This includes developing and executing health and safety management plans, and contractor assurance programs, and driving industry-shaping safety initiatives. Provide high-level strategic and influential health and safety advice to the VicGrid leadership team and Program Directors to effectively manage legislative requirements and mitigate project risk. Proactively address potential health and safety risks associated with managing program and contracts with high levels of public scrutiny. What you will bring Qualification in health and safety or management field is desirable. Exceptional working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and other associated legislative requirements is essential. Experience managing safety requirements on major infrastructure projects. Experience establishing and implementing safety management systems and procedures.
