Director - IUIH Network Knowledge and Research Centre $160,000 - $170,000 + Super + Salary Sacrifice To perform this role it is essential that the incumbent is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. About Us? The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. The IUIH Network Knowledge and Research Center is currently in the process of establishment within IUIH, under the auspices of the IUIH Network through its Data and Research Governance Committee. The purpose of the Centre is to drive a comprehensive and collective program of community owned and led urban Indigenous health and related research. About the Role? The position of the Director - IUIH Network Knowledge and Research Centre has been established to provide operational leadership in the establishment, development, consolidation, expansion and continuous improvement of the Centre. Day to Day Duties Include: Provide representation on behalf of IUIH and the IUIH Network in academic, policy, and research forums. Foster close, collaborative working relationships with other leaders and teams across the IUIH Network. Oversee the implementation and delivery of the IUIH Network Research Agenda. Lead the collaborative development of research proposals and secure funding. Build, lead and manage a diverse team of interdisciplinary staff. Oversee the IUIH Network research portfolio. About You?To perform this role it is essential that the incumbent is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health services. Demonstrated leadership in health research. A PhD or equivalent in relevant discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior research leadership role. Current Criminal History Check. Desirable, but not mandatory: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities. What Can we Offer?
