The role In this role, the Director will oversee diverse teams dedicated to events, commercial strategy and operations, corporate engagement and partnerships, tourism, marketing, media, communications and brand. This unique leadership opportunity will allow you to craft and execute transformative strategies that engage diverse audiences, drive business development, and fuel revenue growth, all while supporting the Gardens' work in science, conservation, and education. At the heart of your work is the goal of enhancing the visitor experience—whether by responding to feedback, analysing trends, or creating innovative new experiences that resonate with a global audience. Balancing revenue targets in a competitive environment and maintaining brand integrity will be key challenges. You'll need to navigate diverse stakeholder interests while implementing transformative strategies to foster a high-performance culture, elevate the visitor experience, and ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation. This role is perfect for a visionary leader with a passion for sustainability, creativity, and building meaningful connections in one of the world’s most multicultural and dynamic cities. What you will bring to the role Demonstrated senior level experience in marketing and communications, business development, fundraising, media, sales, tourism or similar, in a competitive commercial environment. Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve shared goals. Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in. What is an essential requirement: Tertiary qualifications in business or equivalent experience with demonstrated business and commercial acumen.
