Do work that matters: Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. The division also performs an important internal role for the Group by providing equities, markets, lending and transaction banking execution capabilities to other CBA business units that allows them to capture opportunities with business customers. See yourself in our team: This role is responsible for supporting the business manage its financial crime (FC) risks (including ML/TF, Sanctions, Bribery and Corruption and Tax Evasion) within appetite as well as provision of subject matter expertise to build and enhance the capability and knowledge within IB&M. The nature of the role involves engagement across multiple stakeholders in IB&M and the wider organisation, and will be accountable for: Supporting the business in ensuring adherence with the Group’s FC risk framework including policies by developing, implementing and improving our risk approach and control environment across IB&M, its divisions and global locations; Providing insight and recommendations on key FC risks and controls across all products, customer segments and locations in IB&M; Monitoring IB&M adherence to FC risk requirements and managing activities required to meet global regulatory requirements; Champion and drive a continuous improvement mindset that optimises the risk culture of the business; Assist in responses to changing Board and regulatory expectations, as they relate to FC risks. Key responsibilities will include: Maintain an understanding of the business and a commercial appreciation of IB&M’s strategic objectives. Develop, leverage and maintain productive and proactive working relationships with key stakeholders including Line 2, operations, technology, embedded Line1, COO and customer facing teams in IB&M. Provide subject matter expertise and support to the IB&M Business Units to develop and maintain an FC Risk management framework that ensures IB&M is globally compliant with Group’s policies, procedures and controls. Maintain RiskInSite in line with Group standards to demonstrate IB&M effectively manages Risk Assessments, Incidents and Issues. We’re interested in hearing from people who have: Experience in a compliance or financial crime risk management role. Understanding of financial crime rules and regulations in Australia or globally. Experience across risk, compliance and Institutional Banking products or customers. Solid understanding of relevant policies and regulations. Ability to manage large and varied stakeholder groups. Resilience team player who takes an appropriate approach to risk that contributes to our drive to obsess about customer outcomes.
