Job Description
We are seeking an executive professional to lead and drive innovative engagement and education strategies for Australia's lead management agency of the Great Barrier Reef.Bringing exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, you build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, strategically implement engagement and education activities, and support cross-agency collaboration.A results driven leader, you manage and inspire a multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed team to deliver innovative programs while ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and measurable impact.The position provides high level support and technical advice to the Reef Authority's Executive Management Group and is a member of the Senior Management Team.The key duties of the position include Lead and mentor a diverse and multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration while aligning to organisational objectives. Lead the creation, execution, and evaluation of a strategic engagement and education plan that aligns organisational objectives to enhance stakeholder relationships, education programs, and community outreach efforts. Provide high level and timely advice to senior executives of the Reef Authority, the Marine Park Authority Board and its committees and the Australian Government on the strategic and operational delivery of Reef Authority engagement and education programs. Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across all levels of government, Traditional Owners, and Reef dependent industries and communities. Promote an organisational culture of risk and safety management, including in the delivery of remote field activities. To succeed in this role, you will bring: A high level of leadership experience, with a proven track record of motivating and inspiring others to achieve agreed business outcomes and setting the example through your actions and expectations. Experience in setting and meeting strategic objectives across a varied work program, ensuring appropriate resource development and management. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, providing strategic advice and delivering high-quality outcomes. Proficiency in building respectful, productive, and harmonious working relationships with a range of stakeholders, both internally and externally. The ability to undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence while recognising links between connected issues. Strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and an appreciation for the ideas and contributions of others.
