Doctors Role Corporate Health Management are looking for doctors to undertake occupational health assessments for emergency response workers. The role will commence immediately and run through to November. This role provides an excellent opportunity to travel Victoria, with medical sites in 20 locations across the state. There is a potential for the candidates hired to also have the opportunity to work at our new practice in Melbourne Quarter. We deliver a variety of health services to clients across Victoria including health assessments, health checks, pre-employment medicals, vaccination programs and more. Job Description: Conducting medical assessments against specific health standards, for emergency response workers. Communicating the outcome of the assessment to emergency response workers and employers. Reviewing referral/specialist information when it is submitted. Trips to regional locations ranging from one to five days – travel, meals and accommodation included. Training in medical standards provided. Doctor Requirements Willingness to work across Victoria in numerous different locations including multiple nights away. Responsive to emails/phone calls from CHM staff in a one to two-day turnaround time frame. Capacity to review referral/specialist information (48-hour turnaround times required) to ensure timely assessment of a person’s fitness to work. Provision of occupational health services and preventative health care. Occupational health experience desirable, but not essential. Excellent communication skills, and proficiency in communicating with a range of people/stakeholders, particularly employees and CHM staff. Understanding of and commitment to following cultural safety principles. Empathetic with excellent bedside manner. Often medical decisions will impact people’s employment so care must be taken to limit anxiety and uncertainty wherever possible. Ability to work autonomously, but also understand when to contact senior medical staff for advice. Providing information, advice, and recommendations on medical issues and specialist medical services to the Health Centre manager. General Practice consultations, referrals, health screenings and liaison with allied health professionals. Participating in quality and governance improvement including, giving subject matter expertise advice to clinical incident and complaints management and performance management processes. Providing workforce advice and support including adequate staffing levels within department and supervision of clinical staff. Qualifications Current unconditional AHPRA Registration stating they are qualified as a Medical Practitioner. A Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). A minimum of 2 years Full-Time experience in general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent). Overseas trained doctors need to have passed their AMC exams. Current unrestricted drivers licence and own reliable vehicle. Medical Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance. Full Australian working rights. Approx. Volume of Work The quantity of shifts will vary by week; however, they are full days. The shifts you are allocated will depend on the shifts available and your availability. A 1-hour paid lunch break is included. No weekend work is required, apart from occasional travel to and from site. Availability Must be available a minimum of 4 consecutive weekdays per week. Location Doctors will be required to travel and deliver the medical assessments (with a nurse) across metropolitan and regional Victoria.
