The Role: In accordance with Agency policies, procedures and infection control protocols and guidelines, the Domestic Services Officer will: Perform a wide range of high standard cleaning services for wards and other areas within the Midlands Multi-Purpose Health Centre (MMPHC). Provide a laundry service to MMPHC. Assist with basic food preparation tasks and delivery of patient’s/resident’s meals. Midlands Multipurpose Health Centre is situated in Oatlands which is one hour north of Hobart. The Centre is comprised of 18 aged care beds, an urgent care centre and 4 rural health beds. You will need: Previous cleaning experience, preferably within a health care environment, or the ability to acquire same with the capacity to understand and safely operate catering, laundry and cleaning equipment, utensils and cleaning products. Knowledge of, and skill in, food presentation and delivery in accordance with Food Safety Legislation and correct dietary requirements. Basic knowledge and understanding of Hospital and Aged Care routines, procedures and policies with an understanding of Work Health and Safety guidelines, infection control and continuous Quality Improvement or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge. Sound communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and with minimal supervision. Ability to exercise initiative, judgement, confidentiality and discretion in undertaking and prioritising workload. Details of appointment: Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working 44.91 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary: $59,930 to $61,367 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
