About this opportunity The NACC has an Assistant Director Information Management position available for immediate filling in either, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney. A merit list will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months. About the role Working under broad direction of the Director Data and Information Governance, the Assistant Director Information Management will be responsible for implementing an EDRMS framework, handling the Commission’s physical and digital records to ensure compliance with information legislation and business requirements. Leading a small team, this role will work closely with data, ICT and information owners within the NACC to manage and resolve information management related issues and implement information management policies and solutions. Key activities Develop and implement an information management framework, in accordance with Australian Government laws, policies and standards. Oversee records management activities including classification, storage, and retrieval of both electronic and paper file records. Ensure records are securely stored, accessed, and protected against unauthorised access, data loss and compliance risks. Develop and deliver internal policies, training materials and training sessions to ensure understanding and effective use of the records management system across the NACC. Monitor and assess the functioning and effectiveness of the records management system in its ability to meet the current and future business needs and regulatory requirements. Work collaboratively and engage with internal and external stakeholders, engaging and collaborating to develop, design and implement improvements to the records management system. Oversee the record management lifecycle by implementing retention schedules and ensure the secure disposal of outdated records in compliance with legislative requirements and business needs. Acting as the central point of contact for NACC staff to assist with queries and enable a consistent and positive record keeping culture. The NACC is a small agency. In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities. Eligibility Employment with the NACC is subject to the following conditions: Citizenship – applicants must be an Australian Citizen. Security clearance – this is a Designated Security Assessment Position. The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1. Suitability assessment - the NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but is not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police and financial checks.
