Save job Reporting to the Enterprise Systems Manager within the Technology division, the Senior Systems Engineer will support the configuration, implementation, maintenance, administration, and securing of Digital applications and services deployed at my client. The role also involves making recommendations regarding the development of new and innovative solutions to current Technology related issues. In the provision of advice to senior managers on systems issues, the position operates within a framework established by the policies and practices of the Technology Unit. $750-850 P/day Location of work: Sydney Working arrangements: Hybrid Security clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline Key duties and responsibilities Administer, implement, configure, and maintain digital systems and platforms. Perform maintenance patching and hardening activities as required. Identify and remediate security related issues and vulnerabilities relating to any system components. Design, deploy and maintain digital systems and components based on the needs of the Technology department. Delivery of projects and BAU work, both working autonomously and part of a larger group. Liaise with outsourced providers to ensure the availability, robustness, and functionality of supported systems. Create, update, and maintain documentation for the Digital solutions and platforms as they evolve. Desired experience and capabilities Deep knowledge and understanding of the latest software and systems. Specific skills and exposure to: Microsoft Windows Server Operating systems; Linux Operating Systems; VMware virtualisation stack; Microsoft Azure Cloud. Experience assessing patching requirements, coordinating deployments, testing and troubleshooting technical issues. Experience supporting Microsoft SQL and Oracle Databases, including Oracle Critical patching for Oracle Financials. Experience migrating systems from on-premises to the cloud. Experience developing and utilising Enterprise patching solutions to enable automation. Experience with utilising PowerShell or similar scripting language. Experience supporting digital systems and platforms such as Oracle Financials or similar, Sharepoint and Microsoft 365. Experience and knowledge of working within the ACSC Essential 8/ISM and PSPF. Existing Baseline security clearance (or higher) would be highly regarded. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
