Play a key role in ensuring the continuous high availability of real-time energy management systems, directly impacting the efficiency and resilience of Powerlink’s operations. Work with the latest EMS/DMS control systems, while contributing to innovative projects that shape the future of high voltage energy management and network operation. The opportunity: As an EMS Support Officer, you will play a key part in ensuring the high availability and resilience of Powerlink’s real-time EMS operations, which are critical for maintaining the high-voltage network. You will collaborate with a dynamic team to provide 24/7 support for complex real-time applications and contribute to the delivery of capital projects and urgent operational solutions. As a subject matter expert, you will offer technical advice, guidance, and support to ensure the optimal operation of the EMS. Your involvement will also help introduce new technologies and best practices to enhance the functionality of our EMS, contributing to the success of the Energy Management Systems Team. Ensure high availability and resilience of Powerlink’s EMS, including SCADA/RTU, Database, HMI/displays, and the High Voltage network model. Provide expert-level technical advice and solutions for diagnostics and rectification strategies in the EMS. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to clarify requirements, solve problems, and ensure that outcomes meet customer and business needs. Assist in the implementation of new technologies and best practices within EMS operations and coordinate projects and tasks effectively. The people you'll join: Based in Virginia, you will work within the Operations and Service Delivery Division, reporting directly into the Energy Management Systems Team Leader. What you'll bring: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a tertiary qualification in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Systems Engineering. Experience with modern distributed EMS/DMS/Control Systems and associated processes is highly desirable. Experience in providing 24/7 operational support for telecommunications networks. Knowledge of ITIL methodologies and managing SCADA/EMS services. Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements (Electricity Act, Workplace Health and Safety Act, Environmental Protection Act, etc.). Experience working within quality assurance policies and procedures, ensuring EMS availability and reliability.
