Job Description

Location: Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, AU, 2617 What you’ll be doing Our Data & Integration – Data Analytics team at Atturra are now taking in Expressions of Interest for several Mid – Senior Business Analysts, specialising in SQL + Data Model and Power BI Report Development, for up-and-coming Federal Government contract projects. The ideal candidates MUST be based in Canberra and will be required to work on a hybrid arrangement at the client site (as needed) and or our Atturra office. Additionally, holding an active Baseline Security Clearance is a non-negotiable requirement for this role. Responsibilities: Take responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution. Identifies, evaluates, and recommends options, implementing if required. Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. Seeks to support client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of Business Analyst specialisms and provides expert advice regarding their application. Actively monitors for, and seeks, opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities, and products to the advancement of the organization. Clearly articulates and formally reports potential benefits from both structural and incremental change. Encourages and motivates colleagues to share creative ideas and learn from failures. Identifies the communications needs of each stakeholder group in conjunction with business owners and subject matter experts. Translates stakeholder engagement into specific tasks. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining, and working to stakeholder engagement strategies and plans. This role requires a person able to work on-site at RAAF Glenbrook two to three days a week. The work is within a secure environment, so the person must be an Australian citizen with an active Baseline security clearance. Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance Background or understanding of data platform / BI or data analytics projects Proven experience in a BA role within a professional IT or consulting business High degree of problem-solving skills, with the ability to add structure to ambiguous client situations. Experience working with government / defense clients is desirable. Demonstrated analysis and documentation of business capabilities, processes, plans, organizational structures, and/or policies. Demonstrated gap analysis skills. Demonstrated ability to produce User Stories Demonstrated delivery of a project Product Backlog through analysis, design, and refinement, ideally using Agile techniques Familiarity with systems thinking, conceptual modelling, decision support and design thinking is desirable. Knowledge of the best relevant practices and methodologies, e.g. Scrum Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline. Why is this an exciting opportunity?
