Role Abide by the Schools Code of Conduct which expect and require staff and visitors to ensure the protection of students Fully support the schools Child Safe Policy for the prevention of student abuse by identifying risks early, taking all allegations and concerns seriously, reporting to appropriate staff who have specific responsibilities regarding Child Safety to remove and reduce risks to all students at Weelers Hill Secondary College Provide counselling to students and staff as required Provide referrals to other support agencies where necessary Provide positive school programs across specific levels that promote student wellbeing Provide support to parents, students and teachers (particularly teacher mentors) in the provision of appropriate wellbeing programs and strategies in both Middle and Senior School Liaise regularly with School Wellbeing Team regarding matters relating to wellbeing As a member of the Wellbeing Team, you will also liaise with our inclusion Team on student requirements Responsibilities Provide counselling and support to students where appropriate and ensure the promotion of wellbeing across the school Lead the development and assist in the delivering positive classroom and extra curricula programs that promote and improve student wellbeing, safety, resilience, engagement and connectedness across the school Collaborate with Sub school, Learning Wellbeing Leaders and classroom teachers to develop individual program plans for identified students to address their personal needs Provide information and advice to parents and students upon request, including coordination and referral to DE Student Support Services, other Government agencies and alternative education/training/employment programs Provide information and feedback to the Middle & Senior Learning and Wellbeing Leaders regarding individual student needs, issues and concerns and assist in the development of effective learning programs that can be implemented for students at risk Assist students and their families, who require financial assistance in the form of maintenance or student allowances for school, excursions and/or camps, books and uniform Provide weekly and confidential feedback and updates to the Principal class Participate in meetings of local and/or networks of school wellbeing staff as are seen to be appropriate Support teachers in the coordination of educational programs independently or under minimal supervision, providing routine coordination, guidance, and support to other student support staff, liaising with external providers of support services about clearly defined support needs and resources, assisting teachers with the communication of student outcomes and educational programs Who May Apply Individuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
