Job Description

Electronic Monitoring Surveillance Officer Queensland Corrective Services (Organisation site)High Risk Offender Management Unit; Community Corrections; Community Corrections and Specialist Operations; Wacol The High Risk Offender Management Unit (HROMU) team based in the Brisbane and Townsville regions is responsible for the supervision of offenders subject to a supervision order pursuant to the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 (DPSOA) residing throughout Queensland and the electronic monitoring of offenders on parole. It comprises of the following work groups: HROMU Strategic Risk and Support, including the Clinical Support Unit; HROMU Operations SEQ, operating from Wacol; HROMU Central to Far Northern, operating from Townsville; The Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Unit (EMSU), responsible for the Statewide GPS monitoring of DPSOA offenders and offenders subject to Parole Supervision. This talent pipeline is open for candidates to register their interest as an Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Officer for various casual employment opportunities throughout the next 12 months. To be successful in this role, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following experience, knowledge and skills: Experience in, and understanding of, supervision and surveillance practices in a human services or related field Experience in a criminal justice environment or similar human services/regulatory agency Ability to engage with community groups and/or external service providers Ability to work collaboratively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds Knowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills Sound judgement, initiative and maturity in conflict resolution Confidence, flexibility and resilience Computer and keyboard skills Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements: The incumbent will be required to undertake and successfully complete internal pre-service training and associated accreditations, and ongoing training and professional development relevant to the role. Possession of C Class driver's license This position involves shift work as the role supports the 24/7 monitoring of offenders in the community. Shift penalties apply.
