Emergency Services Officer- Gippsland Victoria- FT/ MAX TERM/ CAS Description Emergency Services Officers Grade 2 – 3 The Opportunity: As part of an exciting new project, FSA is looking for Grade 2 and 3 ESO’s on both a full time and casual basis. These roles will be supporting FSA’s client EnergyAustralia at their Yallourn Power station. The roles will be ideally suited for local staff with rostered hours of work being an average forty two (42) hours per week based on a rotating 12 hour 4-panel shift roster. For casuals, there will be an element of pre-planned coverage work, but also short notice requirements for sick and other unplanned leave coverage. To meet roster and coverage requirements, FSA is looking for a total of 8 x Full Time ESO’s Grade 2 or 3 and 4 x Casual ESO’s. Qualifications and skills will be based around the below: Grade 2 Confined Space Rescue; Breathing Apparatus; Provide First Aid or equivalent; Strong Level of Physical Fitness; Certificate II Public Safety (Fire Fighting Operations); Level 3 First Aid; Audiometric; Pain management within the workplace; Emergency asthma management; Off road driving. Grade 3 As Above Grade 2 with: Introduction to AIIMS; Certificate III Public Safety (Fire Fighting Operations); Experience and Knowledge: Experience in the control, confinement and/or suppression of fire and/or incidents where there is a potential for a fire to occur. Experience in the control and stabilisation of incidents where person(s) are entrapped, injured and/or exposed to events that would adversely impact on their health and safety including structural and wildfire, industrial rescue, hazardous materials, dangerous substances and first aid. Ability to gain a working knowledge of the site Emergency Response Plan and the Australasian Interagency Incident Management System (AIIMS); (Where Qualified) Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Applications, Maximo, Alesco or similar equivalent. A sound knowledge of fire protection systems, firefighting equipment, building structure and mechanical services and industrial processes. Ability to identify fire safety hazards and develop measures to mitigate the risks; A working knowledge of Estate Services Standard Operating Procedures; Skills in processes, procedures and practices relevant to firefighting, first aid and rescue techniques; Knowledge and strong understanding of risk management principles. Attributes: A high level of self-motivation and discipline; Ability to work effectively without direct supervision; Excellent written and oral communication skills; A desire and commitment to continuous improvement with regard to self-improvement; Ability to train others in basic firefighting techniques; Commitment to OHS&E practices; Ability to work in a team environment; A strong desire to keep informed and skilled on processes, procedures and practices relevant to firefighting, first aid and rescue techniques. Salary and conditions will be in line with industry and regional expectations.
