Engineering Tech Lead (Consumer)

Job Description

Join our Consumer Segment Technology team in our Sydney office as a Software Engineering Tech Lead transforming our core consumer platforms. Coming from Equifax’s significant data and technology investment, you’ll be delivering the transition of one of our core legacy systems from AWS to a new GCP based global platform that strengthens our data driven decision-making and AI/ML capabilities. You’ll be the technical lead responsible for taking us to a best-in-class, automated, and secure platform that will further support the people, business and communities that we support. You’ll be leading multiple squads with a split between offshore and onshore located teams. This role is expected to have about a 20/30% hands on technical element which includes coding, and you'll need to work to uplift our internal capability over time. Like our other lead roles at this level you'll be doing code reviews, delivering technical designs and architecture work, as well as supporting general process improvement and automation within the engineering practice. What you’ll do Lead software engineering for a critical platform and support its transition to a new cloud environment and capability (AWS to GCP and Angular as front end) Lead a small team of senior engineers onshore as well as offshore resources located across various global locations Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including product, business and sales partners Leverage strong experience in full stack software development and public cloud like GCP and AWS Ensure compliance with EFX secure software development guidelines and best practices and responsible for meeting and maintaining QE, DevSec, and FinOps KPIs Lead Sprint planning, Sprint Retrospectives, and other team activity Responsible for implementation architecture decision making associated with Product features/stories, refactoring work, and EOSL decisions Create and deliver technical presentations to internal and external technical and non-technical stakeholders communicating with clarity and precision, and present complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate What experience you need 7+ years of software engineering experience in an enterprise environment (Java based preferably)and still be hands on enough and technically able to dive into code where required Experience leading and mentoring a small team of senior engineers 4+ years experience with Cloud technology: GCP, AWS, Azure Experience designing and developing cloud-native solutions 4+ years experience deploying and releasing software using Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, understand infrastructure-as-code concepts, Helm Charts, and Terraform constructs Experience working in an agile environment with the relevant associated tools What could set you apart Previous experience understanding a complex business and engineering environment and then migrating to a new cloud platform Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguous environments while leading software engineering for a platform or product Strong communication and presentation skills to technical and non-technical audiences What’s in it for you?
