We are pleased to invite applications for the position of ESH advisor to join our UH-60M Black Hawk team in Enoggera, QLD. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and provide specialized advice for the management of environmental and WHS hazards related to Black Hawk aircraft operations. Manage communications with regulatory agencies and Aviation Command to address WHS concerns related to Black Hawk operations and supporting materials. Assess and provide expert advice on the impact of new WHS regulations and policies, specifically focusing on their effect on the Black Hawk Program. Conduct management and risk assessment functions for Defence Hazardous Chemicals Register (ChemAlert) stock to ensure safe handling and compliance with relevant regulations. Serve as the appointed Hazardous Chemicals Safety Adviser (HCSA) for the UHSPO, ensuring the safe use and handling of hazardous materials. Plan, coordinate, and manage activities to ensure compliance with Environmental, Safety & Health management systems and applicable legislation, ensuring the safety of personnel and operational integrity of the Black Hawk Program. About You: Extensive experience in environmental, health, and safety management, particularly in aviation or military sectors. Knowledge of WHS legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Proven ability to manage complex safety and compliance activities in high-risk environments. Strong communication skills to engage with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders. Demonstrated experience with hazardous chemicals safety, including ChemAlert systems. Ability to evaluate and implement risk management strategies effectively. Significant Defence Aviation Safety management experience. Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in Environmental and/or Work Health Safety management. Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
