Executive Director, TAFE Centre of Excellence TAFE Queensland is proud to be the largest and most experienced Vocational Education and Training provider in the State. As the Executive Director Centre of Excellence, you will be responsible for overseeing and successfully leading the objectives of the Centre of Excellence nationally. This position reports to the Chief Academic Officer, TAFE Queensland. There are two (2) Temporary, Full-Time opportunities, to 22 December 2028 available:1. Executive Director, Health Care and Support, TAFE Centre of Excellence2. Executive Director, Clean Energy Batteries, TAFE Centre of Excellence The position location is negotiable at any TAFE Queensland Campus, however some travel will be required across other TAFE Queensland campuses. Total Remuneration Package (TRP) for this role is to be negotiated. Key Responsibilities Strategic leadership and vision in the development and delivery of the objectives of the Centre of Excellence project plan in a manner that supports the defined key goals and strategies for Queensland and Nationally. Lead and undertake strategic planning in order to identify and mitigate risks and issues that will impact on achieving the objectives of the National Centre of Excellence objectives and KPIs. Provide strategic advice to the TAFE Queensland Executive, TAFE Queensland Board and senior business stakeholders on matters relating to the National Centre of Excellence. Lead a multi-disciplinary project team, managing and delivering all related Strategic and Operational objectives of the National Centre of Excellence to ensure achievement of agreed objectives and outcomes within budget and defined timeframes. Take a leading role in the areas of business consultation, seamless service delivery, change management, collaborative planning processes and business-focused solutions. Consult and negotiate with national and state key stakeholders including Federal and State departments, TAFE Queensland Board and TAFE Queensland Executive, and negotiate effectively with key stakeholders and team members in relation to activities of the National Centre of Excellence. Provide oversight and direction on the strategic and operational aspects of the National Centre of Excellence including the preparation of reports, spreadsheets, planning documentation and other written correspondence. Lead the legislative and other parameters within which the National Centre of Excellence is to be undertaken. Oversee the management of the budget, accounts and revenue associated with the National Centre of Excellence activity. Lead the establishment of performance indicators and manage the maintenance of a quality record system to meet requests for information and for statistical and planning purposes. Develop and maintain effective communication links with senior executive, governance committees and key stakeholders including Federal and State departments, TAFE Queensland Board and TAFE Queensland Executive by providing regular status reports. Identify and prepare recommendations and strategies to facilitate the implementation of the National Centre of Excellence KPIs with senior executive. Assess, manage, resolve and escalate (if necessary) risks and issues throughout the project, including the management of Risk & Issues Registers. Lead an environment where high-quality work is achieved and is supported by the adherence and development of quality system documentation and policies and procedures. How you will be assessed The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities: Demonstrated high level of program/project management skills with the ability to manage successful outcomes. High level communication, consultation and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse range of national key stakeholders, including third party service providers where required. Demonstrated ability to lead the implementation of strategic direction, problem solving, budget management, planning and reporting within a large organisation. Demonstrated high level skills in leading, building and sustaining positive relationships with team members, internal and external senior executive and key stakeholders across varied jurisdictions in meeting the needs and expectations of each cohort. Demonstrated ability to create, live and promote a strong team culture that values the contributions of all team members, is honest and considerate, and through that establishes and maintains a highly respected high-performance team.
