Experienced Chef Required - Thai Cuisine Looking for a chef to join the team for a busy Thai restaurant located in Dickson, Canberra. You will play a key role in creating our delicious, signature dishes with authentic Thai ingredients and methods. This position is perfect for a chef who understands the subtleties of Thai flavors and wants to contribute to a high-energy, collaborative kitchen environment. Schedule Negotiable from Monday to Sunday. Friday to Sunday shifts strongly encouraged. Free drinks Meals included Duties: Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to maintain high standards. Discuss food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff to resolve any challenges. Demonstrate techniques and advise on cooking procedures to improve staff skills and efficiency. Prepare and cook food according to established recipes to ensure consistency and quality. Explain and enforce hygiene regulations to promote a safe and sanitary kitchen environment. Select and train kitchen staff as needed to build a skilled and effective team. Freeze and preserve foods to maintain quality and reduce waste. Plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food in a dining or catering establishment for smooth operations. Requirements: Proven experience as a Thai Chef or similar role in a Thai restaurant Expertise in traditional Thai cooking techniques, spices, and flavor profiles Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Work Authorisation: Australian citizenship/residency status not required Vaccination status not required Pay: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Employment type: Full-time Job function: Management and Manufacturing Industries: Restaurants #J-18808-Ljbffr
